These Animals Still Have A Chance!

The African Painted Dog, the Red Fox, the Mountain Gorilla. These animals are critically endangered, yet with help, they might yet recover. We took an in-depth look at some of the more well-known endangered animals. In this final post in the Endangered Animals Series, we will take a brief look at some of the other endangered animals you may want to be aware of and some very interesting endangered animals that you probably have never heard of. Finally, we will give you a list of organizations that are working to save these animals, that if you so choose, you can support to help them in their work.

Who cares if the Spoon-billed Sandpiper goes extinct? What is a Spoon-billed Sandpiper anyway? As you look at the next set of infographics, you might find yourself having thoughts like these (especially if you investigated endangered insects and other invertebrates. Life without scorpions? Sweet!!! They’re not endangered anyway). In previous posts we talked about the fact that each animal plays an important role in their ecosystem which then, in turn, affects other ecosystems. The quote, “No man is an island” can be applied to each animal in our world as well; we need each and every animal to maintain the natural balance of nature.

Inside the Mind of a Golfer

Yes, We know that not all of these animals are endangered, but we liked the underlying message and thought you would as well

Whether it is a Pangolin killed for scales, a rhino for a horn or a shark for a fin, each death moves these species towards extinction. However, the same mentality that kills a lion, tiger or elephant for a trophy also allows for foxes to be hunted to be torn apart by the hounds or two pit bulls forced to fight to the death in the ring. This mentality doesn’t have regard for the creatures whose lives they take for their pleasure and not necessity. While it is impossible at this time to fix sociopathy (no ability to feel empathy for others), we can legislate behavior and create consequences for the callous disregard of the pain and suffering which pushed so many of these animals to the brink of extinction and has created a manmade horror for others.
Please consider supporting a charity of your choice to fight against the cruelty that takes so many forms, that has been perpetuated upon the animals with whom we share this planet and who need our protection to survive.
